A gorgeous shallow bowl with concave sides perfect for floating flower heads in. The concave sides of this bowl also ensures that it can be piled high with oranges! We have seen this as a Christmas table centrepiece with the oranges studded with cloves and decorated with gold ribbons - the whole display looked absolutely stunning.

A lovely shallow oval bowl with white gadrooned rim. There was only limited production of Italian with the white gadroon rim. Spode tried this style in an endeavour to stimulate sales of Italian in Germany, where Tower with its white gadroon rim had always sold well.

A little wear to the rim, inside to the base there is a little surface scratching and to the outside of the rim two small vertical lines where it stood in the kiln. Sounds much worse than it looks, this is a lovely bowl.

Vegetable Dish c1820
This is a large and rare item, being the liner divided in four sections from a large three part covered vegetable dish. Hot water in the base of the dish beneath this liner would have kept the contents warm. This dish is decorated to the face only and the outside is plain white glazed.
There are some signs of use, including glaze blemishes, small areas of minor staining and rubbing to the rim, but overall it is in excellent condition, especially taking into account its age and purpose in life.
Impressed Spode with 9 beneath and blue printed Spode.
A similar more rectangular dish is illustrated in Spode Transfer Printed Ware by Drakard and Holdway on page 262, but this one is more a rounded oval.
