It sits on a generous canted foot rim.

Small drainer with some signs of age but still a good display piece. It is crazed and there are some areas of light discolouration particularly around the rim. There are two small hairlines between a couple of the holes, but these noticeable really from the back only.

Cheese Stand c1840
An elegant cheese stand of large proportions standing on a decorated moulded splay foot.
Backstamp: Staffordshire Warranted Stone China.
A little blue smudging here and there and a couple of small blemishes to the face. To the outer rim and underneath there is a little wear. Overall a lovely stand.

Cheese Stand c1810
This is one of the loveliest stands we have seen, small in size, but extremely elegant and with a luscious pearly glaze. There is a very little minor roughness of glaze around the stilt marks and underneath there are some glazing imperfections, otherwise superb!
Blue printed backstamp of romantic style cartouche containing Ironstone and initial R, with a grand crown set on top.
Both Ridgway and Rathbone have been suggested as the user of an R backstamp, but the maker of this stand cannot be identified with certainty. A maker of quality items, whoever he was.
