Surface scratching inside to the base with a small manufacturing blemish to the handle and a little minor wear to the foot. The application of the border pattern is a little patchy, overall excellent condition.

| Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Unidentified Pattern white Muffin Dish c1900 This is probably German. Bone china with lovely gilt decoration. On the cover there is a sepia type etching of the drinking fountain and clock tower in Stratford upon Avon, with the inscription below "Drinking fountain the gift of S W Childs to Stratford upon Avon".
The combined clock tower and fountain stands in the centre of Rother market and was presented to the town by George (?) W Childs, a Philadelphia journalist, to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. It was designed by Jethro Cossins a Birmingham architect originally from Somerset. A most unusual dish. Dimensions: Base diameter 19cm / Base diameter 7.5 ins
