There is a little minor wear and a couple of hairlines along the line of the rim, a touch of minor wear to the handle and a small glazing fault to the body but overall a superb display piece.

Wash Bowl c1825
This is a beautiful wash basin with a most attractive floral border. Full decoration inside with three cartouches of pattern around the outside.
No backstamp.
There are two areas of restoration, one fairly extensive, the other to the outer rim. It has light all over crazing with some loss of glaze to the stilt marks inside, a manufacturing chip under the rim, a chip to the inside rim of the foot which shows through and some minor blemishes and signs of wear. Sounds awful, but looks lovely and is for display, rather than use.
The brass waste hole is present, but the plug for it is not

There is a little parting of the clay down the side join, this sounds horrific but is fairly minor and does not go through. The glaze has not totally covered the foot and there is a little wear to the handle. Sounds awful but this is a very attractive ewer.

Wash Basin c1870
A wonderful basin with delightful rural and river scenes around the inside.
No backstamp.
Crazed with some discolouration, with mottling to the white area and there is a small flake to the inner rim resulting in a little loss of glaze and pattern. Overall for a basin it is in excellent condition. The original brass plug hole is fitted, but no plug. The plug hole has the orginal screw fixing underneath and an inventive plumber should be able to easily fashion a connection to allow this basin to be installed for use. A fine traditional shape with a scene of two ladies standing on an ornate terrace of a country house. It looks familiar, but we have not been able to identify the pattern.
No maker's backstamp, only a blue printed 2.
There is a stress hairline, which would have occurred during manufacture, running round part of the foot and inside there is a little minor discolouration, again apparently occurring during manufacture. The glaze is sound and bright and overall this ewer is in excellent condition and looks to have been hardly used.

The basin is decorated both inside and out, it has light crazing although because of the pattern this is not too evident, and a small hairline to the rim. The ewer also has light crazing, again not that obvious and there is a little minor wear, a minor knock and a small stress crack ocurring during manufacture, on the rim. Overall excellent condition.

This would originally have been the bowl from a toilet set but has long since been parted from the ewer. It is however a lovely piece on its own. Beautifully patterned both inside and out in a lovely flow blue floral pattern. The sides of the bowl are gently moulded giving rise to a wavy rim. It has a very small rub to the rim, crazing with some surface scratching and the stilt marks are quite evident. All sounds awful but this is a very pretty bowl.

Quite a long and prettily shaped box with cover.
Backstamp: Impressed No 7.
There is a little minor wear to the rim of the box and the flower finial on the cover and under the rim of the cover is a small chip which was have occurred during manufacture and has been glazed. otherwise excellent condition.

Ewer and Bowl c1850
Fabulous rural scene either side of the ewer and inside to the base of the bowl both with border patterns inset with rural scene vignettes.
No backstamp.
The bowl has all over light crazing with just a hint of discolouration and inside to the base some surface scratching. The ewer also has light crazing and inside a hairline which does not go through to the outside.

With gilt and printed in a steely flow blue/green/grey colour. Three parts: base, internal strainer and cover. The strainer has light crazing and there is a little wear to the gilt otherwise fine.

Ewer and Bowl c1885
This is a fabulous ewer and bowl. Both pieces have extremely ornate embossed decoration - the bowl around the rim and the ewer all over! The bowl has some surface scratching inside to the base and a touch of wear around the rim. The ewer has a small area of rough glaze on the side of the body and a little minor wear but overall excellent condition.

Jug c1880
Printed in black with an allegorical design, on both sides, including the Odd Fellows coat of arms and the inscription Widows and Orphans of Independent Odd Fellows Manchester Unity. Formed in 1810 within the wider fraternal order the Manchester Unity is the largest grouping of lodges within the UK.
Backstamp: Jno Williams, Castle St & Old Market Street, Bristol. Williams was a china wholesaler and retailer in Bristol during the 1880s.
There are a few signs of wear mainly around the foot and rim and some black smudging. There is also restoration to the handle which looks at some time to have been broken off. Not for use but this is great for display and such an unusual piece.

Jug or Pitcher Marriage c1845
This is a wonderful Marriage jug, with lustre rims to the neck and foot and the inscription M & M with clasped hands beneath the spout.
No backstamp but probably Scottish.
There is a little wear to the lustre and to the handle, plus a touch of blue smudging here and there but overall excellent condition and a most unusual piece.

Crazed with a little minor wear to the rim and the handle and a little discolouration around the foot, overall though absolutely lovely.

Treacle Jar c1865
This jar with screw top is printed in black with a continuous hunting scene around the body.
No backstamp but probably by a Yorkshire potter.
It is crazed and stained - treacle is strong stuff! There is a chip to the inner rim of the lid, a small glazing fault just above the foot rim and a small manufacturing chip under the foot which has been glazed over. Sounds awful but this is a wonderful piece.

This is an absolutely fabulous octagonal jug with a lions head as the spout and lovely moulded detail to the handle.

It has just a little crazing with some minor wear mainly to the handle and body and the lions mouth has a very very small chip. Overall fantastic!

Comport c1840
Blue printed under the glaze with hand applied colour and gilt highlights to the ornate side handles. This would probably once have had a cover but is a lovely piece in its own right. There is some scratching inside and signs of wear around the outer rim both showing a little discolouration. Also a small rub to the rim. As usual sounds pretty awful but infact this is a lovely piece. Pattern number in teracotta 3/997.

Sauce Tureen Stand c1840
Although long since parted from their tureens these small stands are lovely pieces in their own right. blue printed under the glaze with hand applied enamel colour. The intricate side handles are highlighted with gilt. Both show minor signs of wear mainly to the inner and outer rims. This shade of teracotta works so well with blue.

Very attractive piece with ochre rim and gilt highlights to the embossed detail on the side handles. Probably a stand for a sauce tureen but a delightful piece on its own.
Backstamp: Impressed x and in script 1684.
Light all over crazing with just a hint of discolouration on the back. The face is bright and clean.

Gorgeous plate with gadrooned rim. Blue printed with added colour and gilt highlights.
Backstamp: blue printed cartouche with an urn and a drape containing the words Iron Stone China. Similar backstamps are recorded as having been used by John Cormie and one of the Hackwood factories. It has not been possible to attribute this plate to either with any certainty.
There is a little minor wear to the rim and just a touch on the back but overall excellent condition.

Fabulous plate with gadrooned rim in the style of Hicks, Meigh & Johnson. The Impro'd Canton China backstamp has been found on three different patterns, although it cannot be attributed to a specific maker.
Backstamp: blue printed Improv'd Canton China.
A little surface scratching and some wear to the rim and on the back a little wear and discolouration. Colour is hand applied so depth of colour varies a little from plate to plate.
