| Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Unidentified Pattern Vases Pair with Covers c1900 It is rare to find a pair of such large covered vases. Made in Staffordshire in the early 20th century, they are in the style of Chinese vases of an earlier era.
The blue printed floral design is decorated with highlights of gilt, with added gilt decoration to finials and handles. Finials and side handles are printed in deep cobalt blue. Each vase has an inner hexagonal cover with finial and a pierced cover with Dog of Fo finial. Two side grip handles, modelled on open mouth Dogs of Fo, are additional decorative elements. They come complete with the orginal carved wooden stands.
Both vases have minor light crazing to the glaze. One of the inner covers has a restored finial. One finial to an outer cover has a hairline at the base. Overall the condition is excellent and both vases are bright and clean. Dimensions: 41 cm high / 16 ins high
