Intriguing design with a dense foliate and floral border surrounding a scene of a goatheard relaxing with his sheep in front of a ruined abbey or monastery.

There is a patch of clay in the glaze on the rim at 2 o'clock and a nick or small chip just beneath it. The glaze is crazed with a hint of associated staining. Fundamentally still a bright piece.

Tiles Set of Six
These tiles are printed in a naturalistic style that is typical of the period 1870-80, but are probably rather later. The central motif is of bell-like thistles intertwined with Gothic foliage.
No maker's backstamp.
The blue varies a bit between tiles and a few printing blemishes, but generally OK. These tiles have been used in the past, so the usual minor chips etc and remains of mortar or adhesive, but all of which is really minor and the faces of the tiles are good. Suitable for decorative display or use.

Wall Pocket c1930s
This wall pocket is made in the shape of a giant shell and is decorated with a dark blue cobalt print of an English country house with thatched roof. We believe it to date from the 1930s although there is no maker's backstamp.
There is a minor nick to one of the points of the shell, a minor glazing fault which occured during manufacture and a few lines of crazing to the glaze. It was made with two lugs on the back to allow it to be hung easily on the wall.

Milsey c1810
The term Milsey is a combination of the words milk and sieve and this delightful little piece would have been used to sieve heated milk. This particular one has the Willow border pattern surrounding the central floral pattern and has a moulded side handle.
No backstamp.
A little minor wear to the rim and underneath a touch of pitting to the handle and a couple of the drainage holes, overall excellent condition and a delightful little piece.

A most unusual piece with a decorative fruit pattern printed in a pretty shade of blue. This jar would have had a screw top.

Knife Rests Pair c1830
The same delightful Chinese landscape scene appears on both these knife rests, which have become so hard to find today, especially in a matching pair. We believe they may be Chinese Porcelain pattern and made by Rogers, although there is no maker's backstamp.
The glaze is lightly crazed and there are a few signs of wear on both. One rest has had knocks on two diagonally opposite corners, which have left chips. The other rest is in excellent condition.

Treacle Jar c1850
A most unusual piece with a decorative fruit pattern printed in a pretty shade of blue. This jar has a screw top which fits very well - sometimes they are something of a struggle! There is a chip to the rim of the jar (visible in photograph) and there appears to have been a little adjustment made to the inside rim of the screw top, which was subsequently glazed over - perhaps why it fits so well! Has light crazing which has absorbed the usual treacle stains, but overall a good example of a treacle jar. No makers backstamp.
