James Kent. This is the base to a tea canister and would once have had a lid. Square with cut corners and standing an a shaped foot it is beautifully patterned all the way round, with one scene on two sides and a double scene on the other two. Crazed with some associated staining inside. Blue printed James Kent backstamp and the words Tea-Caddie.

This lovely lidded canister is square with cut corners, has gently tapering sides and stands on a decorative foot. Beautifully decorative all around the body and to the lid.

Crazed and inside some discolouration. The lid has a tiny nick to the rim and under the rim a chip. All sounds much worse than it looks, this is a delight.

James Kent of Longton & Fenton and his famous Ye Olde Foley pattern. This jardiniere is large, very large and superb. It is printed in a deep rich blue that brings out the quality of the engraving of the rural scene printed on both sides. An item of stature, an outstanding display piece or simply stunning used for its original purpose.
The glaze is finely crazed, but otherwise in almost as new conditon.

Made by James Kent of Longton and Fenton. Quite extraordinary is the only way to describe this vase with its generous bulbous body and funnel neck topped with wavy rim chimney stack effect, highlighted with deep cobalt blue and white decoration. An English rural scene on one side and landscape of ruined castle or abbey on the other.
Superb condition, almost as new.

James Kent. Cylindrical vase with solid blue band around the foot and the top rims. The glaze is finely crazed with tiny tiny nick to the top rim, a little wear around the foot and a small under foot rim chip which just peeps through. Not as bad as it might sound, looks fine on display.

James Kent. This is a rose bowl but without the pierced top, it does however make a lovely piece on its own. Crazed with associated discolouration inside, otherwise fine. A lovely shape standing on four small feet.

Rose Bowl c1920s
James Kent. This is lovely! Square and standing on four small feet, each side has a different rural scene. The top is pierced and in superb condition, this is the part of rose bowls that is so often damaged. Light crazing but this is mainly noticeable from inside!

Vases Pair c1920s
James Kent's famous Ye Olde Foley Ware with delightful rural scenes set within foliage. These vases are the most ornate we have seen in this design, with the most amazing scroll side handles and a white foot decorated with bold brush strokes in cobalt. The same scene appears on both vases and on both sides.
These vases are in near perfect condition.
On one vase the tip of one "point" on the rim has been off and professionally restored. On both the glaze has a little fine crazing and is also a bit gritty. Because of the complexity of the shape there are a few signs of "stress lines" in the firing. We try to mention everything, but frankly these are just wonderful. Extremely decorative, rare and above all a pair in a collected design.

James Kent. This is stunning! A large jardiniere in a gorgeous urn shape. All over crazing but this is mainly noticeable from inside where it has absorbed a some staining.

Vase Spill c1920s
Two different rural scenes set within verdant foliage.
Glaze crazed, stained internally from use. Very short faint hairline to the neck rim. There has been a knock to the foot rim leaving a small unsprung chip under the foot rim and under the base there is a star crack, which does not go through to the inside.
It actually looks fine, but we try to mention everything about a piece! Usual blue printed backstamp.

Cache Pot or Jardiniere c1920s
A large jardiniere with three vignettes of rural scenes around the outside set within a foliage background. There is an embossed circular pattern within the clay around the body and a semi circular embossed pattern around the rim, both giving an added dimension to this lovely pot. It is crazed and has some associated staining. There is a long hairline that runs down from the rim. Nevertheless, it is a lovely large cache pot.
