This platter looks unused and is in superb condition. Blue printed backstamp Abbey 1790 in the cartouche with George Jones & Sons above and England beneath. Impressed date mark for February 1933.

Tray c1929
An absolutely lovely tray in superb condition. This is quite an unusual piece as it has the green printed mark of Bishop and Stonier and an impressed date for November 1929. In 1932 Bishop and Stonier production was moved to the Crescent Works. So this piece was actually made in 1929 but not decorated until after 1932.

Not marked but we believe it to be by George Jones. A lovely plate with narrow embossed decoration to the rim. Light crazing and a couple of tiny tiny glazing blemishes otherwise fine. A very attractive piece.

Bowl or Nappie c1912
This is shape AB48 in the George Jones catalogue, where several nappies in sizes are listed and the largest is 13ins diameter. This example at 14.5ins diameter is significantly larger and these bowls are rare in this size. The bowls are decorated on the inside only and the quality of the print is excellent, in a good bold blue. There are two areas of restoration on the outside, one of a rim chip and the other of a hairline that runs down from the rim. This hairline is visible on the face, once you know it is there. The glaze is lightly crazed, but overall the condition is good and it looks fine on display, either flat or standing. Fruit Dish c1920s
These square dishes are found only rarely. In the Jones 1924 catalogue it is item AB5 Fruit Dish Square available in two sizes. This is the smaller one. A few minor glaze blemishes occurring during manufacture. The glaze is crazed, but bright and the slightly pearly glaze gives added softness to the design. Blue printed back stamp Abbey 1790 in the cartouche with England beneath. Impressed registerd number for the shape is unclear, possibly 730214 suggesting 1927?

This is shape AB48 in the George Jones catalogue, where several nappies in sizes are listed and the largest is 13ins diameter. This example at 14.5ins diameter is significantly larger and these bowls are rare in this size. Two are available, which have been in the same house since they were bought about 1910. The bowls are decorated on the inside only and the quality of the print is excellent, in a good bold blue. The glaze is lightly crazed, but overall the condition of both bowls is outstanding. Bowl c1930
This bowl sits on a flat foot, rather than the raised rolled foot of many Abbey bowls. Printed in a lighter blue than much Abbey. The glaze is crazed with a touch of staining here and there, mainly underneath and a minor glaze blemish in base of bowl. Bowl or Nappie c1915
This is shape AB48 in the George Jones catalogue, where several nappies in sizes are listed and the largest is 13ins diameter. This example at 14.5ins diameter is significantly larger! Decorated on the inside only, the quality of the print is excellent, in a good bold blue. Blue printed early backstamp Abbey 1790 in the cartouche, impressed crescent mark and impressed date mark for 1915. A little very light crazing and some minor wear to the rim otherwise excellent.

Small tureen, with stand and cover. Backstamp: Abbey 1790 England and on stand G Jones & Sons England Abbey 1790. The stand has a little minor blue spotting to the face and on the back a little wear and tiny hairline to the rim which does not go thorugh to the top. The tureen has a little wear to the rim and to the foot a few minor blemishes and one corner has been well restored. The cover has a few minor blemishes. Overall the set is in excellent condition.

Soup Tureen c1920s
This tureen has two shell like side handles. It has the main Abbey pattern either side with narrow border pattern around the foot and wider border pattern inside around the rim. The ladle has a white bowl with pattern along the stem. The cover has the main Abbey pattern to the centre surrounded by the border pattern and topped with an ornate finial. Sauce Tureen c1920s
Lovely set complete with stand, cover and ladle. It has however a little damage. The stand is in excellent condition with barely a scratch to the surface. The tureen has some wear to the rim and a small chip - not noticeable when cover is in place. It also has a chip under the foot which just peeps through. The ladle has a plain white bowl with pattern along the stem. It has a hairline to the bowl of 3/4" otherwise is fine. The cover is in excellent condition. All in all a delightful set.

This looks absolutely perfect until close inspection reveals a hairline running down one side of the tureen. The hairline has absorbed a little stain. The cover is in excellent condition. Lovely for display. Blue printed backstamp.
