| Maker: Woods Pattern:Grapevine Border Series Tea Plate Luscombe c1825 By Enoch Wood & Sons, depicting Luscombe in Devon. Luscombe Castle was built by John Nash in 1800 for Charles Hoare, the banker. It is a castellated mansion with a large Gothic porch and a central tower. The grounds were designed by Humphrey Repton. Blue printed cartouche with Luscombe, Devon and impressed mark ENOCH WOOD & SONS, BURSLEM.
A few signs of wear and some minor crazing to the glaze on the back. The face is clean and bright.
These small plates are difficult to find. Dimensions: 16.5 cm / 6.5 ins

| Maker: Woods Pattern:Grapevine Border Series Plate Cashiobury c1825 By Enoch Wood & Sons, depicting Cashiobury in Hertfordshire. Cashiobury, on the outskirts of Watford was an Elizabethan mansion remodelled by Hugh May in 1674-1675 and by James Wyatt in 1800. It was the seat of the Earl of Essex, but was demolished in 1922.
Backstamp: Cashiobury, Hertfordshire and impressed Enoch Wood & Sons Burslem.
A little surface scratching otherwise excellent condition.
