Teapot c1930s
Printed in the steely blue shade of Chung. This is a rare shape of teapot, known as Cosy, made by Wood & Sons to a patented design registered by Abram Allware Ltd and decorated with Woods traditional Chung pattern. Abram obtained patents for their teapots in 1922-25 and the Cosy name was also a registered trade mark. Apart from the shape of the pot, the novel features appear to be the fixing of the lid on the pot and the design of the gate, which is integral to the lid. The printed backstamp is mainly taken up with the registration and patent details for the USA, Canada, Argentine, Brazil Chile and three British patent numbers 188503, 214073 and 229495.
There is a tiny hairline to the spout and inside, the lid support has a chip otherwise excellent.

Fabulous very large bowl printed in a steely blue. Originally from a ewer and bowl set but now a stunning piece on its own.

Inside there is a little surface scratching and there is some wear to a small area of the rim, overall excellent condition.

A lovely two handled vase standing on a round foot - absolutely gorgeous! Printed in quite a deep steely blue.
Backstamp: blue printed cartouche with Chung above and Rd No 631664 L & Co beneath. The design was registered in 1914. L & Co appears to be another Woods' backstamp, similar to H M & Co, which appears on Yuan vases and neither are to be found in the usual references.
This vase is in excellent condition.
