Plate Quincy Illinois c1910
Lovely plate with deeply canted sides, printed in a rich dark blue. Central view of the Adams County Courthouse, surrounded by pattern vignettes around the rim of the Federal Building Post Office, Administration Building, Soldiers Home, Public Library, St Francis Solanus Collage, Gem City Business College and the City Hall. Backstamp: R & M Co. The Rowland & Marsellus Co Staffordshire England Sohm, Ricker & Wersenhogh Quincy Illinois. (Rowland Marsellus were importers and Sohm, Ricker & Wersenhogh retailers.) There is a little wear and discolouration under the rim, however the face of the plate is in excellent condition.

Fabulous plate printed in a rich soft blue. The central scene of the Virginia Building surrounded by cartouches of Westover on James River, Lower Brandon on James River, Shirley on James River, Nelson House Yorktown where Cornwallis Surrended and The Monticello Home of Thos Jefferson. Backstamp: Nusbaum Book & Art Co 100 & 102 Granby St Norfolk VA, Royal Staffordshire Pottery Burlsem England.
