Dinner Plate c1820
Early 19th century pearlware plate by rare maker. Bears blue printed mark of crown over laurel leaves, Ironstone China and G Weston. Marked wares by George Weston of High Street, Longton, Staffordshire fl 1815-1829 are extremely rare. We have seen only one other and the standard reference work says marked pieces are not recorded. Impeccable provenance from The M J Edmonds Collection. One tiny nibble to rim, few minor nibbles to foot rim, glaze bright and clean, lovely piece of rare early pearlware.
