| Maker: Wedgwood Pattern:Unidentified Pattern Butter Dish c1850 Wedgwood were not large producers of flow blue, but as you would expect what they did make was superb quality.
This is a delightful small flow blue octagonal covered butter dish complete with cover and stand. How rare to find all three pieces intact.
The stand has delicate moulded relief decoration around the rim and it is gently crazed with some light associated staining - nothing major. The dish itself has minor signs of wear around the rim and two very small rim chips barely noticeable when cover is in place. The cover has a beautiful flower finial, surrounded by ornate moulded relief, with the same delicate moulded relief, as the dish, around the rim. Again the under side of the cover shows some signs of wear and has a small inner rim chip only noticeable when the cover is off the dish.
Both the stand and the dish have impressed backstamps WEDGWOOD and PEARL.
This is a lovely set with a few signs of wear, which are hidden when it is on display. A rare and desirable survial from 150 years ago. Dimensions: Dish 16.5 cm x 14 cm / Dish 6.5 ins x 5.5 ins
