An absolutely delightful rural scene on this platter. There is just a little crazing and the occasional tiny piece of grit in the glaze. There is a small chip to the outer rim at 11 o'clock and a miniscule flake of glaze off the rim at 4 o'clock. Sounds awful but it is our policy to mention absolutely everything! Overall this is a superb dish and the "faults" only noticeable on close inspection.

Fabulous dish with the wonderful rural scene surrounded by a wide floral border.

Light all over crazing with a little discolouration although this is mainly on the back. To the face there is some surface scratching with just a little pitting. A little minor wear to the outer rim and on the back a possible hairline although this does not go through to the face. Sounds so much worse than it looks, this is a fabulous dish.

This is a delightful little piece with small handle, possibly part of a much larger set.

There is some wear with loss of glaze to the rim and handle and two hairlines to the rim one of which also has some loss of glaze. Inspite of all, this remains a lovely little piece.

This is the small oval tureen, beautifully decorated both inside and out.

The tureen has a little minor surface scratching inside and one or two minor glazing blemishes but overall excellent condition. The cover has a rub or nick to the loop handle and a hairline crack running from the centre to the rim, which has been professionally stabilised.

Sauce Tureen c1825
This is one of the prettiest sauce tureens you will find, printed in a darkish blue and with a deep bright glaze. The charming rural scene positively glows.
The cover has fine crazing to the glaze, a few signs of wear and an old chip on the end of the spoon cutout. The tureen has crazing to the glaze and inside is stained plus an old chip on the rim. The stand is near perfect, just minor signs of use. Put all three together and the set displays beautifully.

Soup Tureen c1825
Village Church is one of the most popular English rural scene designs and was made by several potters and marked pieces are rarely found. It is sometimes known as Rural Village.
This is a lovely set, with a medium sized soup tureen, complete with original stand and ladle.
Condition. Lid: glaze crazed and a long hairline running from the spoon cut-out. Our ceramic conservator has professionally stabilised this so the integrity of the lid is assured and the hairline will not worsen. Tureen: glaze is crazed with some associated staining, mainly inside. Some rubs to handles and rim through use. Ladle: superb. Stand: glaze is sound, some wear and rubbing to rim and a couple of the stilt marks have taken up a little staining. Overall: Assembled this ensemble looks absolutely fine and the presence of the ladle gives added stature.
No makers backstamp.
Measurements are for the tureen and include the handles.

A fabulous double five bar rack with part of the Village Church pattern each end. The arched bars have an ornate twisted detail to them.

Drainer c1820
Village Church was made by Wedgwood and others. This drainer has no maker's backstamp, but the engraving and printing is of high quality. A lovely English rural scene on an unusually large drainer.
The glaze is lightly crazed and has some minor light associated staining, noticeable mainly from the back. There are two small nibbles at about 10 o'clock just on the rim and a small chip to the inner rim on the back.
A beautiful display piece, effectively a picture on your wall.
