Chalice c1830
A fabulous piece with ornate side handles. Backstamp: Villa. This chalice has clearly seen active service. It is crazed with discolouration although this is mainly inside. There are some stress cracks to the stem and another underneath to the centre. Also underneath to the foot rim there is a crack with some loss of body which just shows through to the outside rim which also has a little pitting. Finally a hairline to the base of one handle and a small chip to the spur of the other handle.
