Muffin Dish c1900
This is probably German. Bone china with lovely gilt decoration. On the cover there is a sepia type etching of the drinking fountain and clock tower in Stratford upon Avon, with the inscription below "Drinking fountain the gift of S W Childs to Stratford upon Avon". The combined clock tower and fountain stands in the centre of Rother market and was presented to the town by George (?) W Childs, a Philadelphia journalist, to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. It was designed by Jethro Cossins a Birmingham architect originally from Somerset. A most unusual dish.

Bone china with gilt rims and gilt decoration. Gilt rim worn in places to the base. The loop handle to the cover has been re-stuck!
