The Beemaster remains one of the most sought after early designs. This delightful scene is derived from a watercolour Swarm of Bees, Autumn by George Robertson 1742-88, which hangs today in the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery, Bedford. The maker of The Beemaster is yet to be identified, although Adams has been suggested.
Small side or tea plates are rare in any early 19th Century design and this is very dainty. There are some knife marks and minor signs of wear and rubs to the rim, but the glaze is sound and bright. Overall excellent condition.
No makers mark and 8 impressed on back.

The glaze is crazed, with some associated light staining, whch is mainly confined to the back. The face is bright. Overall good condition.
