Maker: Unattributed Maker  Pattern:Stackpole Court
Jug or Pitcher c1835
Lovely jug of this delightful river scene, depicting Stackpole Court at Petroc in Pembrokeshire, which was the seat of the Earl of Cawdor. Built around 1785 it fell into dis-repair in the 1950s and was demolished in the 1960s. It was a popular scene for use on transferware. Elkins used it as one of their Irish Scenery Series and it appears also in the British Scenery Series by an unknown maker. No backstamp. There is wear and discolouration to the rim and a little to the foot and some minor blemishes to the body otherwise in remarkably good condition.
Dimensions: 1.35 ltr 14.5 cm high / 2.25 pint 5.75 ins high
