Mug c1830
Simla is an oriental inspired design, which was later made by Elsmore and Forster and has also been attributed to Thomas Walker, although the evidence is shaky! This mug is too early to have been made by either of them and as there is no maker's backstamp it remains unattributed. A really good sized mug with moulded strap handle and luscious flow blue print, including broad border decoration inside the rim. A couple of minor nicks and glaze blemishes, but near perfect, with glaze as sound and bright as the day it was made.
