| Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Sicilian Ewer c1845 Sicilian pattern was introduced by Minton about 1830 and was also made by Pountney and a third unidentified maker. The detailing of the backstamp on this ewer suggests this is a Minton original, albeit not from the first flush of the pattern's life, but atypically a crown is included in the backstamp, so to be safe we have not attributed it to Minton. Printed in a pretty soft blue on clear white body.
Backstamp: blue printed crown over floral cartouche containing the word Sicilian.
Light crazing with a little discolouration inside and has a tiny defect in the glaze. Overall excellent condition and a fabulous ewer.
