| Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Old England green Meat Dish or Platter Windsor Castle c1850 This is a charming view of Windsor Castle, the country home of the Queen in Berkshire complete with promenading ladies and gentleman and passing soldiers on horseback. This view is one of a series, which some call Castles & Palaces, although we have used Old England as it is printed on the back. Examples are found printed in black, green, pink and slate gray. This lovely large platter is printed in a bluey-green.
Apart from some utensil marks from use and minor rubbing to the rim the face is bright and clean. There is some crazing to the glaze on the back, which has taken up some staining.
Printed backstamps of post 1837 Royal Arms with Imperial Stone above and Old England, Windsor Castle. Impressed is the word Pearl.
