Wonderful jug depicting the tale of John Gilpin on his runaway horse. This pattern is well-recorded, although the maker has yet to be identified. Backstamp: John Gilpin. Light crazing with a little wear to the rim. The handle also has a little wear and discolouration There is a small manufacturing blemish at the entrance to the pig sty. Overall good condition and a most unusual piece.
Dimensions: 1.2 ltr, 14 cm high / 2 pint,5.5 ins high
