Meat Dish or Platter Coughton Court c1830
An intriguing series of views, printed in pale blue tones, with a classical urn or vase to the left and hollyhocks to right, framing a historic castle or stately home. Here the scene is of Coughton Court near Alcester in Warwickshire, which is the ancestral home of the Throckmorton family. Renowned for their Catholic recusancy, one of their number Elizabeth Throckmorton was the last Abbess of Denney Abbey, Cambridgeshire and after the Dissolution of the Monasteries lived out her days at Coughton. This platter is in superb condition. There are a few signs of use, but it is almost as new. Blue printed urn backstamp with Etruscan & Greek Vases.
Dimensions: 49.5 x 38.5 cm / 19.5 x 15 ins

Knife Rests Pair c1830
The lovely floral border of this pattern decorates these knife rests. Both have light crazing. One has patches of wear with two small chips to a corner. The other has just a little wear on top and has two under rim chips, but despite having had an active life these are lovely rests.
Dimensions: 9 cm x 3.5 cm / 3.5 ins x 1.5 ins
