| Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Departing Traveller Meat Dish or Platter c1820 This is an unusual shape, best described as a perfect rectangle with rounded corners, and it is also quite deep; almost a dish. It could be a serving dish, but unlikely to be a tureen stand as there is no foot rim and the base is flat. It really is most attractive. The quality of the potting, engraving and printing are all superb and this clearly comes from a top potter, but his identity remains elusive. This pattern was given the name Departing Traveller, when it featured in Friends of Blue Bulletin No 100.
No maker's backstamp, only an impressed 14.
There is light crazing to the glaze, otherwise the condition is outstanding. A superb display piece.
