Maker: Unattributed Maker  Pattern:Armorial
Ewer c1870
Armorial pattern was made by William Smith & Co of Stafford Pottery, Thornaby, Stockton on Tees about 1830. The pattern on this ewer is Armorial, but is a later variant of the Smith version. No maker's backstamp, except an embossed leaf mark. The glaze is lightly crazed, but this ewer is in excellent condition. However, the print quality is not great, with surplus ink blobs and blurring etc. achieving a flow blue look. If you like hand made rustic charm it will appeal.
Dimensions: 2.85 ltr 26.5 cm high / 5 pints 10.5 ins high
