| Maker: Turner and Tomkinson Pattern:Rippled Ribbon Band lilac Toy Tea Set c1860s Made by Turner and Tomkinson of Victoria Works, Tunstall. This design is usually known by the name Rippled Ribbon Band and here is printed in a lovely lilac. The same design was produced on similar shapes by J & R Godwin and Robert Heron & Son. The set comprises a teapot, covered sucrier, creamer, five cups and saucers and two plates. There are a few minute nicks to one or two of the cups and saucers and crazing to the glaze of the saucers. The knobs of the teapot and sucrier lids have firing cracks, which occurred during manufacture. For a child's teaset everything is really in excellent condition.
Lilac printed registration diamond for 7 March 1861. There are also some impressed marks: four cups have B, one cup O, teapot T, sucrier and creamer have 40. Dimensions: Teapot 14 cm long 10 cm high / Teapot 5.5 ins long 4 ins high
