Meat Dish or Platter Oatlands Surrey c1825
Andrew Stevenson of Cobridge, active 1816 to 1830, produced his popular dark blue Rose Border Series primarily for the American export market. This plate depicts Oatlands or Oatlands Hall near Weybridge, Surrey. Oatlands was originally an Elizabethan Royal palace, but over the centuries demolition and fires saw other smaller houses take the place of the palace. Since 1856 it has been a hotel and continues as such today.
Typical blue printed cartouche backstamp with urn and drape, containing title Oatlands, Surrey and impressed mark A Stevenson Warranted Staffordshire round a crown. Provenance the Otto Collection with label and item number 875.
At first sight this platter looks near perfect, but a long hairline, running down from 11 o'clock has been extremely well restored and a large chip at 2 o'clock has also been restored. Otherwise this platter is in lovely condition.

Dinner Plate Faulkbourn Hall c1825
Andrew Stevenson of Cobridge, active 1816 to 1830, produced his popular dark blue Rose Border Series primarily for the American export market. This plate depicts Faulkbourn(e) Hall, located about 5 miles south east of Braintree in Essex. With its origins in the 15th Century, this brick built mansion still stands today and remains in private ownership.
Typical blue printed cartouche backstamp with urn and drape, containing title Faulkbourn Hall and impressed mark A Stevenson Warranted Staffordshire round a crown.
With one tiny flake off rim, utensil marks from use, glaze still sound and bright, the condition of this plate is excellent.

Dinner Plate Culford Hall c1825
Andrew Stevenson of Cobridge, active 1816 to 1830, produced his popular dark blue Rose Border Series primarily for the American export market. This plate depicts Culford Hall, located about 5 miles north of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Built around 1790 for the Marquess of Cornwallis it is better known today as the home of Culford School.
With few utensil marks from use and finely crazed glaze, which is still bright, the condition of this plate is excellent.
