Plate c1825
Andrew Stevenson of Cobridge active 1816 to 1830. This small plate looks as if it was printed from copper plates that were worn with use. Impressed backstamp Stevenson curved over a sailing ship. The glaze is finely crazed, but so finely it is hardly noticeable on the face, which is bright and clean. A couple of lines in the glaze, which do not go through and some rubbing and wear to the rim. Fundamentally a sound, pretty plate.
