Toast Rack c1820
A rare canoe shape toast rack in the Woodman pattern, which in itself is not commonly found. The border pattern decorates the inner rim of this rack and each end there is a small part of the main scene, although the Woodman himself does not appear! There is an old chip to the tip one end and elsewhere on the rim a tiny nick and some rubbing to the glaze. A tiny nick on the foot. The dividers have minor rubbing to the glaze on the side tips, but have survived completely undamaged, which is miraculous. The glaze is sound and the rack is overall bright and clean. A delightful decorative rarity. Impressed backstamp Spode 11 and blue printed X in circle.
