Tea For One Set c1930s
A fabulous small tea for one set consisting of a tray, small teapot and tiny jug. This was made especially for the Hamburg-America shipping line, with a picnic scene and in a fan-like panel with a shield are the letters HAPAG (Hamburg-Amerikanschen Packetfahrt Actien Gesellchaft - Hamburg-American Parcel Delivery Co Ltd). The tiny jug also has the traditional Tower scene on one side of the body. Backstamp: Copeland Spode England also on tray impressed Copeland Crown. Tray has light crazing otherwise all in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Tray 23.5 cm x 10 cm pot 0.3 ltr, jug 0.15 ltr / Tray 9.25 ins x 4 ins pot 0.5 pint, jug 0.25 pint

One of life's curiosities, a mug made especially for the Hamburg-Amerika shipping line, with a picnic scene and HAPAG in the foreground on one side and the more familiar Tower scene on the other. The full title for HAPAG was Hamburg-Amerikanschen Packetfahrt Actien Gesellchaft or Hamburg-American Parcel Delivery Co Ltd. Blue printed backstamp Copeland Spode England. Light crazing to the glaze, otherwise excellent condition.
