Meat Dish or Platter with tree and well c1884
Parasol Figure pattern is an early 19th Century Chinese landscape design, named after the solitary figure on the bridge, who carries a parasol. This platter, in fluted Chelsea shape, was made about 1884 and the design is printed in Mandarin blue on Copeland Spodes B body cream coloured earthenware. There is gilt line decoration to the rim, which is a little worn in places, but overall this platter is almost as new. Impressed backstamp Copeland curved over B, date mark for October 1884 and diamond registration mark for 15 November 1879, which was the registration of the Chelsea shape.
