Vase c1909
Fabulous Portland Vase shape with side handles. Backstamp: blue printed seal mark with Copeland late Spode, which suggests a date around 1890. In red script pattern number T730. The pattern number is from the T series of Toilet Ware patterns and 730 would date to around 1909. It is described in the pattern book as "printed in Claret Brown blued under glaze, coloured on glaze, edged off in Goodes green". This vase looks better than those words suggest it might! Excellent condition.
