It has a some minor wear and discolouration to the outer rim and just a little equally minor discolouration to one of the stilt marks otherwise excellent condition. Blue printed Copeland and impressed crown with Copeland above.

| Maker: Spode Pattern:India Cabaret Set c1889 Bone china with gilt and printed in a pretty shade of turquoise. Set comprises of a large tray with two side handles, teapot, two teacups & saucers, jug and sugar bowl. Tray has light all over crazing and some wear to the gilt. It has the impressed Copeland crown and impressed date for July 1889. The teapot has a tiny hairline to the inner rim and a little wear to the gilt. Cups & saucers excellent, saucers have impressed date for 1889. Sugar bowl and jug also excellent condition. Jug has green printed Spode Copeland seal mark. Teapot, cups & saucers and bowl & have green printed Copelands china and pattern no 4765.

| Maker: Spode Pattern:Indian Sporting Series Soup Tureen c1820 A magnificent soup tureen complete with cover and stand, in this ever popular and collected series. The tureen has The Hog at Bay on each side and the stand and cover have Hunting a Buffalo.
Backstamps: Tureen has impressed SPODE 46, plus blue printed SPODE and B. Stand has impressed SPODE 9 and blue printed SPODE and title Hunting a Buffalo. Cover has impressed SPODE 45 and blue printed SPODE. Provenance the collection of A Gresham Copeland and by descent to his son T Robert Copeland. Tureen and cover have collection labels AGC 377 and the stand AGC 454.
Tureen: Outside the glaze is largely sound, but there are some lines of crazing in places and inside it is finely crazed. There is a short hairline in the bulge of the body and a stress crack from firing inside. A few rubs to handles. Cover: A rim chip at 8 o'clock and another on the spoon cut-out, along with its associated wandering hairline have all been professionally restored. The glaze is crazed. Stand: The glaze is crazed, with some patches of light associated staining, mainly in the sky. Overall: Because of their purpose and size it is almost impossible to find completely perfect examples and it would be difficult to find a better complete set than this one.

This plate has a pierced arcaded rim and inner basket weave border. The glaze is crazed and has taken up a little light staining, but there is no damage, which is unusual in these finely made plates. One of those pieces that looks fine on display.

There are some utensil marks, rubs to the rim and one tiny rim nick and a couple of areas of crazing on the back, where the glaze pooled during manufacture. Otherwise as bright and clean as when it was made.
