Dinner Plate c1855
A delicate life-like design of fern and convolvulus printed in tones of grey blue. This design is discussed in Spode and Copeland Marks by Robert Copeland, where a dinner service bought in Russia in the 1850s is recorded. In excellent condition with only the slightest signs of use. Blue printed backstamp Copeland in wreath with crown over and impressed crown. Provenance: The personal collection of Gresham Copeland, passing by descent to his son Robert Copeland. Collection identification label on back AGC 90403.
