Vase with Cover c1914
Chinese Figures pattern was registered by Copeland Spode on 26 May 1914 and is a combination of their famous Peacock design, introduced c1813 and Cracked Ice, introduced c1821. This elegant vase has a domed cover with a Dog of Fo finial in dark cobalt blue. Dogs of Fo are Chinese dragons and this one is more akin to a grumpy bulldog with a long tail. The glaze is finely crazed, but both vase and cover are in excellent condition. Blue printed Copeland late Spode England seal mark with registered number 637556 and script pattern number 2/6652
Dimensions: 30 cm high / 12 ins high
