The tureen has a little mottling, inside some loss of glaze to the stilt marks and underneath a little wear to the foot. The ladle has a little very minor wear underneath otherwise is in excellent condition as is the lid. Overall an extremely pretty set.

| Maker: Spode Pattern:Chinese Figures colour Vase with Cover c1914 Chinese Figures pattern was registered by Copeland Spode on 26 May 1914 and is a combination of their famous Peacock design, introduced c1813 and Cracked Ice, introduced c1821. This elegant vase has a domed cover with a Dog of Fo finial in dark cobalt blue. Dogs of Fo are Chinese dragons and this one is more akin to a grumpy bulldog with a long tail.
The glaze is finely crazed, but both vase and cover are in excellent condition.

| Maker: Spode Pattern:Cracked Ice and Prunus Dessert Plate c1835 From the Copeland and Garrett period. Prunus and Cracked Ice is a Chinese design, which is symbolic of the New Year, a time when the cherry blossom falls onto the frozen lakes as the ice begins to thaw and crack.
