Meat Dish or Platter with tree and well c1830
Spode introduced his British Flowers and Botanical series in 1828. They have similar designs of flowers, but Botanical reverses the typical colouring with basically white flowers on a blue background, giving a softer look. It is one of the most sophisticated and subtle of all the Spode designs.
This platter is in superb condition, with a little wear on the back, a few knife marks on the face, but with no real signs of use during its 170 year life. The face is wonderfully bright and clean.
There is an impressed SPODE with 1 beneath and a blue printed SPODE, plus decorators mark of an A. This platter would have been made between 1828 and 1833.
A rare opportunity to acquire a major piece decorated in a strongly collected Spode design and in near perfect condition.

Soup Tureen Stand c1830
An absolutely stunning piece with fabulous moulded details to the side handles. Made as a stand for a soup tureen but has it has no indent for the tureen to sit in, is great also as a platter.
Backstamp: Impressed and printed Spode.
There is a little loss of glaze to the stilt marks and some minor wear to the outer rim and moulded detail. There is a small chip on the back of one of the side handles which just shows through, but overall this is excellent condition.

Dessert Plate c1830
Botanical is Spode's prettiest floral design and was introduced about 1826. Delightful octagonal plate. A minor printing blemish on the face and a small chip to the footrim on the back, where the glaze is finely crazed. Face bright and clean.

A lovely plate from Spode's famous Botanical Series, which reverses the typical colouring with basically white flowers on a blue background, giving a softer look. There are a few very minor glazing blemishes on the face of the plate otherwise it is remarkably clean, unscratched and bright for a plate of this age. It also has a little minor wear to the rim and a hairline to the inner curve of the plate. The latter really only noticeable from the back.
