Light all over crazing and on the back a little very minor wear and discolouration, overall excellent condition.

Plate The Lion The Bear and The Fox c1835
This attractive plate was made during the Copeland & Garrett period 1833-1847. The Aesops Fables series was introduced in 1830 and the designs are taken from the illustrations in the 1793 edition of the Rev. Samuel Croxall's Fables of Aesops, which was an immensely popular work. Often printed in green as here Spode's Aesops Fables remained in regular production until 1879.
The glaze is crazed, with a little light staining here and there, mainly visible on the back, where there is a faint star crack.
