The scene depicts Nuneham Courtenay, Oxfordshire, the seat of the Earl Harcourt, set in grounds laid out by Capability Brown around 1780. Small square drainer with impressed WS on the back for William Smith, Stafford Pottery, Stockton on Tees, Yorkshire. There is some fine crazing to the glaze, with a couple of areas of light associated staining, also minor light staining aroundthe central hole. A charming piece.
