Soup Plate c1840
William Smith Stockton on Tees. Lovely soup plate with wavy rim. Backstamp: W Smith & Co Select Views and impressed W S & Co Wedgewood. (An injunction was taken out in 1848 preventing the use of Wedgwood on Smiths wares, whatever the spelling! Crazed with some light discolouration around the outer rim and on the back. Overall really good.
