Teapot c1930
Rubin Art Pottery. A traditional Chinese design on an Art Deco shape. The pot is diamond shape with the handle and spout on opposite corners, slightly ovoid, with moulded foot and neck rims, with gilt line decoration to rim and lid. The lid is novel both in shape and fitting. This teapot was protected by Patent number 301262 and the shape registered under number 730719 for 1927. Rubian closed down in 1933, so this teapot dates from 1927-33. There is also a pattern number 4428. There are two chunks out of the inner rim for the lid, which itself has had a tiny internal knock. These are not visible when the lid is in place. Exernally it looks fine and is an attractive display piece.

With gilt. An absolutely gorgeous oval teapot with moulded body in superb condition.
