Meat Dish or Platter c1820
The scene depicts the Remains of an Ancient Building near Firoz Shah's Cotilla, Delhi and is based on an aquatint in Oriental Scenery by Thomas Daniel. A monopteros is a temple consisting of a circle of pillars supporting the roof and was the name first given to this design before the scene and source print were identified. The Cambrian Pottery at Swansea made another version of this same scene, but with two camels.

A little very minor surface scratching and touch of minor wear to the outer rim, overall excellent condition.

A stunning large dish in this fabulous pattern, where the border is all part of the central scene.
No backstamp.
Light all over crazing with some surface scratching and one or two minor blemishes. On the back there is a little minor wear but overall this dish is in excellent condition.

John Rogers & Son of Dale Hall Pottery, Longport, Staffordshire. The scene depicts the Remains of an Ancient Building near Firoz Shah's Cotilla, Delhi and is based on an aquatint in Oriental Scenery by Thomas Daniel. A monopteros is a temple consisting of a circle of pillars supporting the roof and was the name first given to this design before the scene and source print were identified. Other versions of this design were made by Bevington & Co of Swansea and an unidentified maker.
The quality and clarity of the print suggests that this platter was produced early in the life of the printing plates. All the original detail is there and this is one of the finest examples of this design we have seen.
The glaze is finely crazed and there are a few minor rubs to the rim, but this platter is in excellent condition and makes a fine display piece.

Soup Tureen c1820
This is an absolutely superb tureen with cover and ladle. The tureen and cover have fine crazing but in no way disfiguring. The cover has a superb lion finial, and the tureen two lion heads each side for handles The ladle is gorgeous with pattern inside the bowl. A truly magnificent piece.

Crazed with a little discolouration although this is mainly on the back. Also to part of the rim some wear resulting in loss of glaze. Sounds worse than it looks!

Fabulous little piece with two side handles and scroll finial to the cover.
No backstamp.
The base has a hairline crack from the rim to the base and a little discolouration inside. The cover has a hairline from the ladle cut out for approximately 2 ins. In spite of the damage a lovely little piece.
