Plate Taymouth Castle c1825
John and Richard Riley of Burslem, Staffordshire active 1796-1828. Backstamp: blue printed cartouche Taymouth Castle, Perthshire, Riley. Light all over crazing with some discolouration on the back and a little wear to the outer rim. Also on the back some gritty glaze and wear to the foot rim. Overall though a fabulous plate.

Dessert Plate Kingsweston Gloucestershire c1825
John and Richard Riley of Burslem, Staffordshire active 1796-1828. Their Large Scroll Border Series is perhaps their best known design and was made mainly for export. Kings Weston is a country house near Bristol, designed by Vanburgh and completed in 1725. Impressed backstamp Riley and usual blue printed cartouche with Kingsweston, Gloucestershire and Riley. There is light crazing to the glaze, which has mainly affected the back, where there is a little light staining. The face is bright and clean.
