Jug or Pitcher c1880s
This is an unusual shape for a jug - square with with handle and spout on opposite corners. Each of the four sides has one of two rustic scenes set as vignettes within a wonderful floral pattern, all standing on four small flat feet. The handle is incredibly ornate with moulding and blue line decoration. There is some staining inside to the base and a tiny firing crack inside. A few lines of crazing on the base, otherwise bright, sound and clean. Overall excellent condition. Blue printed backstamp bow and quiver with Ridgways on quiver and Vistas also printed. Impressed date mark for 1882.
