Sugar Box c1835
William Ridgway. Lovely hexagonal sugar box with relief moulded sprig decoration around the body and beaded Backstamp: Raised pad lozenge 426. There is brown mottling around the body and discolouration inside and underneath the cover. There is a stress fault around the base of the cover finial, to the rim of the base two beads missing and to the inner rim of the base there is a small stress fault.

Plate sample c1950s
This is a wonderful sample archive plate from Ridgway with a selection of their hotelware backstamps Backstamp: Ridgway Est 1792 Vitrified Made in England 7-56. Excellent condition.

Plate Hot Water c1840
With gilt. A most unusual plate, with slightly deeper foot rim than usual for a plate. Backstamp: Manufactured by WRS & Co for James Dixon & Sons Hot Water Plate. A little minor wear overall excellent condition.

Plate Turkey c1903
Fabulous plate with a gorgeous floral border surrounding the central view of turkeys. Backstamp: Ridgways England and impressed date for 1903. Light crazing with a little minor wear, overall excellent condition.

Soup Plate c1850
With gilt. A fabulous floral pattern highlighted with gilt. Backstamp: Impressed Improved Stone and in script 2480. We have attributed to this William Ridgway. Light all over crazing with a hint of discolouration otherwise fine. A stunning piece.

Toilet Box c1844
Made by Wiiliam Ridgway, Son & Co of Hanley this toilet box has a blue printed registration diamond for 16 December 1844. Printed in a pale blue with darker tones in the scenic vignettes. Decorative shape with moulding and decoration to handle, body and rims One of the rests internally has been broken and restuck and a hairline runs from it in the base up to the rim, otherwise fine.

Hot Water Jug c1903
Stunning jug with pewter collar and cover. Backstamp: Ridgways Royal Semi porcelain England, in script 3040 and impressed date for 1903 and on cover Rd No 376705. There is some wear to the pewter and a little knob from the weighted mechanism is missing. The actual jug is in excellent condition.

With gilt. Stunning little dish with embossed beaded and teardrop decoration to the wavy fluted rim. Backstamp: Ridgways Royal Semi-Porcelain England and impressed date for 1906. Excellent condition.

Plate hot water c1844
A most unusual plate, with slightly deeper foot rim than usual for a plate. Made by William Ridgway Son & Co of Hanley active 1841-1846. Backstamp: Patent Ironstone China Hot Water Plate WRS & Co James Dixon & Sons - the latter were retailers. In script 182. There is some wear to the outer rim and a little surface scratching, overall excellent condition.

Ice Cooler c1830
With gilt. A stunning, extremely decorative Ironstone cooler. Fabulous grape finial with embossed grape surround and ornate side handles and embossed leaf decoration around the base. Backstamp: In script 171. Light all over crazing with a little discolouration, some wear to the gilt and a couple of small hairlines to the rim and a longer one from the foot to half way up the cooler. Lacking the liner.

John & William Ridgway. Delightful little stone ware pot with ornate side handles and white floral sprigware decoration. No backstamp. The occasional very minor blemish otherwise excellent condition.

Candlestick c1830
William Ridgway. Lovely candlestick with fabulous ornate relief moulded detail. This stick is pattern or shape No 7 in William Ridgway's first pattern book and is illustrated on page 143 of Ridgway Porcelains by Geoffrey Godden. No backstamp. There is a tiny stress crack to the foot and underneath three small chips, otherwise excellent condition.

Meat Dish or Platter c1840
A gorgeous platter with fabulous multi coloured pattern. Backstamp: Printed Crown and in script 3/1099. We have attributed this to Ridgway but cannot be absolutely sure! Surface scratching with some wear to the outer rim otherwise excellent condition.

Dish with Cover c1840
Fabulous dish with two side handles and wonderful finial to the cover highlighted with gilt and ochre rim. Backstamp: Imperial Stone China JR Fine all over crazing with a little discolouration to the base and a little wear and shadowing to the handles and finial and also to the ochre rim.

Footed Bowl c1835
John Ridgway. A fabulous bowl with lustre rim and ornate gilt highlights to the side handles and pattern. Backstamp: Green printed Royal Arms and Imperial Stone China JR and in script 5052. There is a little wear to the lustre rims and also some surface scratching and hint of discolouration inside to the base resulting in a little loss of detail to the pattern. Overall a fabulous piece.

Sauce Tureen c1830
The quality of the potting and decoration is superb and we have tentatively attributed this to Ridgway. It is a stunning set of tureen, cover and stand with fabulous embossed detail highlighted with gilt. In particular there is a delightful flower finial to the cover. Backstamp: pattern number in script 1660. There is a little minor wear to the inner rim of the tureen otherwise excellent condition.

William Ridgway & Co. A wonderful plate printed in bold cobalt blue with teracotta highlights. It has a little surface scratching and a tiny glazing fault to the rim but overall a stunning plate. Blue printed and impressed William Ridgway marks.

Fabulous rimmed soup plate with lustre rim. Backstamp: Green printed Royal Arms and Imperial Stone China JR and in script 5052. A little surface scratching and some wear to the inner rim and lustre. On the back there is a small chip to the foot rim and a little discolouration.

Lovely bowl with indented lustre rim and gilt highlights. Backstamp: Imperial Stone China JR and in script 5053. Crazed with a little light discolouration and underneath a small chip to the foot.

Drainer c1825
This is not marked but probably by John and William Ridgway. Unusual in that it stands on four small feet. Blue printed under the glaze with hand applied enamel colour. The rim has signs of wear, some discolouration and also a small firing crack. There is also staining around many of the holes.

Ink Stand c1825
Porcelain with gilt. An absolutely fabulous ink stand on four small feet with well and piercings for quills. The cover has an ornate flower finial. No backstamp. There is a little wear to the gilt and the base has a tiny nick to the rim. The cover also has a hairline running from the finial to the rim however this is barely visible on the top. Underneath the cover there are also a couple of manufacturing faults. Overall this is a fabulous piece.

Jug or Pitcher Sprig Moulded Bacchus Mask c1820
A wonderful porcelain jug with amazing detail, especially to the Bacchus Mask spout and the grapevine border around the rim. No backstamp. A little very minor wear otherwise excellent condition. See Plate 284 in An Illustrated Guide to British Jugs by Dick Henrywood for this jug.

Mug c1820
Attributed to John & William Ridgway based on the style and decoration. A fabulous porcelain mug with sprig moulded decoration around the body of a griffin and putti and grapevine border. No backstamp There is a hairline across the base, another small one to the body, a tiny one to the rim and just a little wear to the handle and the occasional minor blemish inside. Sounds much much worse than it looks.

Vase c1810
Attributed to John & William Ridgway based on shape and decoration. A lovely porcelain vase with ornate handles and sprig moulded decoration around the body of putti with a lion one side and with a goat the other No backstamp. The glaze to the rim and foot are just a little gritty and there is a small stress fault to the lions tail!

Cup and Saucer c1825
Porcelain. An absolutely delightful cup and saucer bat printed in plum and featuring a girl with a bird on her hand on the saucer and on one side of the cup and with a squirrel on a table on the other side. Attributed to Ridgway. A cup of similar shape with high loop handle is illustrated in Plate 713 page 119 of A Compendium of British Cups by Michael Berthoud. No backstamp. There is a small minor blue smudge on the side of the cup and elsewhere the occasional minor blemish, overall excellent condition.
