Pretty white lobed dessert plate with quite a deep bowl to the plate, by John & William Ridgway of Hanley, active 1814 to 1830. Blue printed cartouche backstamp incorporating Rural Scenery and J&WR. One lobe has been restored on the rim, otherwise in excellent condition.

John and William Ridgway. A fabulous dish from a supper set with lovely harvesting scene, men reaping overseen by the farmer on his horse, framed by a floral and hop border. Backstamp: Rural Scenery J & W R. Excellent condition.
