| Maker: Pountney Pattern:Bristol Views Series Meat Dish or Platter Clifton c1840 Bristol Views Series, with various views along the River Avon, is the best known pattern from the Bristol Pottery of Pountney.
Clifton is now a suburb of Bristol, but in its day was fashionable for recreation and relaxation. Today it is more famous for its Gorge with suspension bridge.
Made first by Pountney and Allies this platter has the typical horse shoe shape backstamp impressed Pountney and Goldney. This partnership operated the pottery from 1836 to 1849.
There are a few minor glaze blemishes and knife marks, but this platter is as bright and clean as the day it was made. Lovely example from this popular series. Dimensions: 37 x 27.5 cm / 14.5 x 10.75 ins

Crazed with some discolouration although the latter is mainly noticeable around the inner rim and on the back. There is just a little pitting around a couple of holes otherwise the face of the drainer is remarkably unscathed with barely a scratch to the surface.

| Maker: Pountney Pattern:Gothic Ruins Warming Dish c1820 An unusual design, where the plants dwarf the ruined abbey and people. It has a most attractive border design. Made during the Pountney and Allies period at the Bristol factory 1816 to 1835.
No maker's backstamp.
The glaze is finely crazed and there is a short minor stress line on the edge of the bowl, which occurred during manufacture. Overall in excellent condition.

| Maker: Pountney Pattern:Hexagonal Dome Plate c1825 This pattern is an interesting mix of classical temple or mausoleum, with its hexagonal dome, in the background and people and fencing that have an oriental look to them in the foreground. It is found rarely and the name is a given one by the Transferware Collectors Club database. We have attributed this plate to Pountey and Allies of Bristol active 1816 to 1835, but this is purely based on the impressed P backstamp.
Fine crazing with a little discolouration on the back. There is a piece of grit in the glaze at 11 o'clock in the tree and a couple of other very small blemishes. On the inner rim at 4 o'clock there is a mark, where this plate has touched another in the kiln. Dimensions: 24.5 cm / 9.75 ins

| Maker: Pountney Pattern:Italian Dinner Plate c1825 It is not widely known that the famous Pountney factory at Bristol produced an early version of Spodes famous Italian pattern. This dinner plate dates from c1825 and the glaze is crazed with light staining to face (visible in photograph) and back, otherwise fine. An interesting example of plagarism from another age.

Backstamp: Bristol Alkalon China Trade Mark Mandarin Pattern and also on the stand impressed date for 1911.
The tureen and cover have light crazing and a little wear to the gilt and there is some wear to the outer rim of the stand. Overall very good condition.

| Maker: Pountney Pattern:Willow Dinner Plate c1825 Made at the famous Bristol Pottery during the Pountney & Allies period 1816 to 1835. Marked examples by this pottery are relatively uncommon and few examples of the traditional Willow pattern are recorded.
Impressed backstamp of Pountney & Allies curved over cross and blue printed cartouche Warranted Ironstone with P & A beneath.
The design has been well engraved and printed, although there is some surplus colour, almost as if it is slightly flown. The glaze is finely crazed, which has taken up a little light staining on the back. On the rim at eleven o'clock there has been a knock taking off a bit of glaze and clay. Overall though, despite the description it is a bright and clean piece.
