Comport Dessert c1850
This is a lovely almost teardrop shape of dish with pierced side handle, with ochre rim and gilt line decoration around the piercing.
Backstamp: Fruit Basket and in script 1198. No makers marks but we have attributed this to Morley.
There is a little wear to the ochre rim and light crazing overall a lovely piece in good condition.

Absolutely gorgeous dish with ochre rim and pierced side handles. Black printed cartouche back stamp of fruit filled basket and the pattern name Fruit Basket. Pattern number 1198 in ochre script. No makers marks but we have attributed this to Francis Morley & Co. Pattern No 3/1198.
The ochre rim is worn and there is some surface scratching otherwise excellent condition.
