Vegetable Dish Base c1850
The scene depicts Nuneham Courtenay, Oxfordshire, the seat of the Earl Harcourt, set in grounds laid out by Capability Brown around 1780. Base only for the vegetable dish with cartouches of pattern around the outside and full pattern inside. Backstamp: Impressed Moore & Co S (Samuel Moore & Co Wear Pottery Southwick Sunderland) Crazed with some light discolouration, a little wear to the side handles and around the outer rim and a couple of tiny star hairlines underneath.
