Very attractive design of bowl of fruit and foliage within pretty floral border and all printed in a rather soft slightly flow blue.
Backstamp: impressed Minton BB for Best Body, Staffordshire Knot as date code for 1880, plus a U and an E.
A little surface scratching and signs of wear and a small hairline to the rim at 1 o'clock, otherwise in excellent condition.

Tiles pair of c1880
Two lovely tiles printed in a slightly steely blue.
Backstamp: Mintons China Works Stoke on Trent England. No 1541.
One tile has some damage to top left corner and a little to the top right, elsewhere around the rim there is a little pitting. The other tile has a little damage to the rim on the right and top right corner and just a little minor pitting around the rim, overall pretty good condition for a tile!

This is a fabulous piece printed in a pale chinoiserie pattern with ornate moulded side handles.

Cheese Stand c1879
An elegant cheese stand of grand proportions and superb design. Printed in blues with hand painted rust red to the flowers, all set off by the ochre rim. All in all an absolute delight.
Some fine crazing to the glaze and few signs of wear to the rim, but really lovely condition.
Impressed Minton and date cypher for 1879 and pattern number 2/2296 in red script.

Bourdaloue c1850
A pretty bourdaloue with green rim and attractive floral pattern. These oval pots go under various names, but their purpose was singular. Today most often called a bourdaloue supposedly so named after Pere Louis Bourdaloue (1632-1704) a Jesuit preacher at the court of Louis XIV, whose long sermons left the ladies of the court in some discomfort. However, the first known bourdaloue was of Dutch delftware and made about 1710, so this explanation appears to be apocryphal. They are also known as coach pots and crinoline slippers. They were designed to offer particular convenience for ladies forced to endure long coach journeys, operas as well as church services.

Light all over crazing with a little discolouration inside and wear to the green rim.

Breakfast Cup and Saucer c1886
Bone China with gilt and printed in a bluey green.
Backstamp Mintons England, impressed Mintons and date cypher for 1886.
The gilt is quite worn on the saucer. The cup has a small hairline to the base of the handle a little staining inside and some minor wear to the foot. A piece for display only, but absolutely gorgeous.

One of a series of tiles Designed by William Wise (1847-1889) for Minton. This tile features a young woman feeding doves and farmyard fowl and is printed in a subtle shade of green.

Some surface scratching and pitting around the rim. Around the side there is a chip but this does not affect the face of the tile.
